APT Publications Racing is one of the newest professional race teams to enter the Keema
Excel Cup racing series in Australia.
The team had a great debut in 1999 in the Clubman Kart Lights finishing fourth in the season. 2000 saw the team come of age with first placing in the Resa Heavy Club division, placing second in the Resa Cup Lights series and in the Archerfield 150 and 300 lap endurance races.
The team driver – Tyrone Gautier, is a seasoned Kart champion with a string of race wins under his belt. His invitation into Super Karts was testimony to his ability on the track.
In 2002 the team was busy testing and preparing for its first encounter in Super Karts.
In 2003 APT Publications Racing launched its first full race ready season with full pit team, back up administration support and a host of sensational sponsors. 2003 was a great year of development culminating in our team driver, Tyrone Gautier, taking pole position in the last round of the season and winning acclaim from drivers that have been in the series for years.
Our overall result for the year was 3rd place in the club championship and 4th place in the Queensland State Titles.
In 2018 APT Publications Racing competed in its first full year of the Keema Excel Cup. Treating 2017 as a development year and only competing in 5 of the 8 rounds, we managed to finish 14th out of 42 in the 2017 championship, finishing Round 1 in third and taking a pole position and race win in Round 6.
In 2022 we embarked on a new challenge behind the wheel of a Mazda MX5 competing in Prodsports QLD.
With the knowledge and gains made in previous years we expect to be fighting hard in the front pack in 2023.
